What Did Thomas Edison Say?
Hello again, it’s good to be back and summer was a blast. After taking some time off coaching, I’ve decided to jump back into it. A funny thing happened to me, the original purpose for starting the coaching process was to work on my skills and growth in winning the challenge against ADD. However, it turns out I really ended up liking it!
Having some time away from coaching helped confirm that I had acquired the skills and grown as a person and I could stand on my own above the challenges I faced. Coaching is an awesome experience and through all this personal growth, I realized that with or without ADD………..the coaching process is a huge benefit. When I decided to take a break from coaching, I was a little self conscious. I felt as if there was something so wrong with me, that I needed someone to hold my hand through the dark night, so to speak. As I went through these past months I interacted with friends, other parents, acquaintances and met many new people. While not every single person I met used a coach, surprisingly many do. I suddenly came to the realization that coaching for me was not just about ADD, it is also about continuing to become a better man, friend, father and what ever else I need to be.
Seeing others who didn’t have ADD or other challenges involved in coaching really made me realize that we do need to continually work on ourselves and grow. I had become restless and I needed to progress again.
Restlessness and discontent are the first necessities of progress. - Thomas A. Edison
