Megamind, the great 3D animated superhero comedy by DreamWorks came out this last November 2010. It features the voices of Hollywood big-shooters like Will Ferrell, Brad Pitt, Tina Fey, David Cross, and Jonah Hill. I sat through the movie with my kids then, stuffing popcorn into my mouth at a pace that could have won me the world popcorn eating championship. Just so you know……apparently Dave Dobradenka of Bluffton Ohio is the popcorn-eating champion of 2010. Dave won the Shirley’s Gourmet Popcorn eating contest and managed to down one tub and one handful of popcorn in five minutes, beating out seven other contestants, according to Pete Suter of Shirley’s. Yes, that’s some riveting news!!
Back to Megamind and ADD……..Megamind is a super-intelligent alien (very ADD), has constantly battled his nemesis Metro Man (he competitive). Megamind believes himself destined to be the villain (maybe a little narcissistic). Metro Man is unable to escape death, and appears to be killed when Megamind’s death ray strikes him (creative inventor). Megamind revels in his victory, but shortly becomes depressed, his villainy having no meaning without anyone to stop him. (oh, ya…he’s ADD)
Just some observations, I think it’s very entertaining to see the character flaws, development, positives and very real side of movie characters in kid’s movies. There are likely some very real traits manifested in these characters, by creators in the movie studious that make these brilliant features. Gotta love those creative ADD types!
